The Bond Store is a family-owned Kāpiti Coast distillery, tasting room and event space — making award-winning spirits and creating a place people genuinely want to spend time.
Built on the Kāpiti Coast.
The Bond Store was started by Bec Kay and Chris Barber in 2017 with a simple idea: make spirits they were proud to put their name on, from a place they were proud to call home.
What began as a small distillery has grown into something much bigger — a working production site, a tasting room, a local gathering place, and a home for cocktails, events, music, food and good people.
We are still proudly local, still hands-on, and still making decisions the same way: carefully, practically, and without too much song and dance.

Our range includes Kawakawa Gin, Kāpiti Coast Vodka, Garden Party Gin, Kāpiti Coast Dry Gin, Koakoa Limoncello, Koakoa Limoncello Cream and Cocktail Collusion ready-to-drink cocktails.
Some are bold, some are bright, some are dangerously easy to share. All of them are made with the same approach: quality first, flavour first, and no need to get precious about it.
We want our spirits to feel at home on a good bottle-store shelf, in a proper cocktail, at a family barbecue, or in the hands of someone visiting us for the first time.
A place to visit, not just a bottle to buy.
The tasting room has become a big part of who we are. It is where people come for cocktails, tasting paddles, pizza, tours, quiz nights, live music, private functions and the occasional slightly ridiculous themed event.
That matters to us. Because when people visit The Bond Store, they don’t just taste the product — they understand the brand. They meet the people, see the stills, enjoy the space, and leave with a story worth telling.
That is what makes us different. We are not trying to be a faceless spirits brand. We are building something people can actually feel part of.

We care about the place we live and work, so sustainability is built into how we make decisions. That includes practical things like reducing waste, reusing bottles where we can, choosing better packaging, thinking carefully about water use, and working with local suppliers wherever possible.
We are not perfect, and we do not pretend to be. But we keep looking for better ways to make good products without making a mess of the place we call home.

The Bond Store is growing carefully — through better products, stronger hospitality, more events, deeper wholesale relationships and new opportunities beyond New Zealand.
But the heart of it stays the same. We want to build a business that lasts, supports its community, gives people a good time, and proves that a Kāpiti Coast distillery can stand proudly on a much bigger stage.
