Kāpiti composer and multi-instrumentalist Michelle Scullion makes a welcome return to live performance with MSQ – the Michelle Scullion Quartet – following an extended break after an accident in 2025.
Joined by Robert Kingi on guitar, Elliott Fui’moana on bass and Cam Steel on drums, Michelle will present her World of Flutes programme: an evocative blend of jazz, funk, blues, atmospheric grooves and world music.
Moving between concert, alto and bass flutes, Chinese bamboo flute, kōauau, vocals and percussion, Michelle brings a remarkable palette of sounds to music inspired by artists including Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Sérgio Mendes, alongside the quartet’s own distinctive musical colours.
Opening act: Carys Ferguson (winner of the Kāpiti College Talent Quest 2026)
